Here it is folks! This is a SOG, Navy SEAL 2000 knife, dating back to 2000. There have been subsequent versions of this knife produced by SOG that mainly differ by the sheath supplied. This is from the first commercial production run.
This knife is new, old stock. It is in its original packaging. This knife was produced by Seki in Japan for SOG. If you know knives, you know the legendary quality of Seki. Includes the original Kydex ambidextrous style sheath.
Everything here has never been carried, displayed, handled, sharpened, etc. It is just like it left the factory 23 years ago. There is some minimal shelf wear on the plastic clam shell packaging from decades of climate controlled storage. The factory sealed the clam shell package with some kind of heat sealer "spot welder." These dots along the top of the package have given way, but the contents are 100% new and have never been disturbed. This knife evaluation program included the following tests: Tip breaking strengths, blade breaking toughness, sharpness and edge retention, handle twist off limits, two week salt water emersion tests, gasoline and acetylene torch resistance, chopping, hammering, prying, penetration, cutting of 6 different types of rope and nylon line, low noise and reflectivity evaluation, plus an intense hands-on competition in the field. The SOG Seal 2000 Knife features 7" partially serrated blade, powder-coated for low reflectivity, grippy Zytel handle for chemical and flame resistance, AUS-6 steel for saltwater resistance, In 2007 SOG quit producing the SEAL Team Knife in Seki, Japan and switched to Taiwan.
