RARE 1957 CAMILLUS MIL-K S1760 DEMO STAINLESS US UTILITY SCOUT CAMP KNIFE Twin City Gold is pleased to offer this RARE 1957 CAMILLUS MIL-K S1760 DEMO STAINLESS US UTILITY SCOUT CAMP KNIFE
At the beginning of WW2, there was a great need for millions of pocket knives for Americans soldiers. The four blade camp or scout knife was originally issued with bone handles but the military soon desired a less expensive, more durable pocket knife tat would not rust as easily. During the course of the war a new knife was designed of stainless steel and brass liners. This knife was manufactured by Kingston and Stevenson during WW2. Post WW2, it was manufactured by Ulster in 1948 and Camillus (Prototypes) in 1949. In 1957 Camillus produced the first Mil-K knives with their name on it for a US Military contract. They would produce this knife for the military from 1957 until 2006.
