You are bidding on one replacement iron or blade or cutter for a Stanley Miller's Patent Number 41 through 44 wood plane as pictured. To be clear, this is not an original Stanley cutter. It is not marked. Width is very close to 5/16" at the sharp edge, and the sides are slightly tapered (see the last picture) so that the width is about a 32nd less on the grooved side. Overall length is about 2-15/16", and thickness is about .220" for its entire length. Three sides are reasonably bright and shiny, but the long side with the cutting edge has some patina (color) and a few tiny hints of pitting. SHIPPING: Under 1 pound, shipped in a padded envelope. No International shipping. I sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography! RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn't need a return policy. However, that doesn't mean that I won't make an occasional mistake. And if you have made an error, and bought the wrong size, for example, I will still take care of you (but I’ll let you pay the return shipping!). USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASES: I use the Post Office for everything, and yes, the shipping charges just keep going up and up. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, Pricetronic requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.
SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including Pricetronic. If I ship to a state where Pricetronic is required to collect sales tax, Pricetronic will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from Pricetronic that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to Pricetronic. SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with Pricetronic to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the Pricetronic email system? Please don't ask, the answer is no. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly. As a bidder, I really dislike going back at the end of an auction to bid, only to discover that the seller had ended the auction early. So I won’t do that for you, or to you. PACKAGING: Please check my feedback -- I package well. I figure if you take the time to purchase from me, then I can take the time to package it well, and not just throw it into a cereal box with a scrap of newspaper.
